Jane’s early childhood education (primary and secondary) was in Lagos Nigeria. Her first exposure to agricultural science was as a secondary/ high school student, even though she doesn’t remember any mention of fisheries/aquaculture as part of the course. Fisheries/aquaculture is now part of the curriculum. She obtained her first degree in management sciences from the University of Nigeria and worked in commercial banking (Zenith Bank) for more than twelve years before proceeding for a Master of Business at Notre Dame University Fremantle, Western Australia. On returning to Nigeria, she decided to venture into an area that would provide engagement even during retirement and went into agriculture as it is sustainable. She read up a lot of articles on the internet, watched videos attended trainings/workshops and practiced what she had learned. She started by nurturing six hundred fish seeds and have grown to producing fish seeds as well as processing/packaging of the products.
