2022 APEC:
Growing Indigenous Businesses Through Trade

APEC: Growing Indigenous Businesses Through Trade is about encouraging and building capacity of Indigenous entrepreneurs to engage in global business.

The project is funded by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in partnership with Treasury and the National Indigenous Australians Agency. The project has received co-sponsorship of Canada, Chile, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Chinese Taipei and the United States.

The project will be delivered by the Export Council of Australia (ECA) in cooperation with Supply Nation.

Application process and timeline

The online program is open to Indigenous entrepreneurs in APEC economies who are already operating successfully in a domestic context, and exploring the idea of exporting, or have just started to export and are looking to other markets.

The application period for APEC GRIT 2022 is closing soon as we begin the program.

Course content

The program will cover the fundamentals of export, including:

  • Understanding the export journey and identifying your market
  • Getting your product and service to market
  • Intellectual property rights
  • Accessing the right finances and finding an innovative business model
  • How to deliver an effective pitch
  • Practising your pitch
  • Final pitch delivery

A reliable internet connection will be required to join the program.
