Te Rina Kowhai, New Zealand

Te Rina Kowhai is a broadcaster and social entrepreneur. With over 12 years experience in television, she has worked across a range of Māori and Pasifika programs for both Television New Zealand and Māori Television (Te Karere, Waka Huia, Marae, Tagata Pasifika, Kawe Kōrero, Mataora, Te Kāea).

Working in various production positions, as a journalist, Studio Director, Production Manager, and Producer specialising mainly in Māori and indigenous issues, she was named as a finalist for Best Māori Affairs Reporter at 2020 Voyager Media Awards. A Mum of two, she has helped her family small businesses over the years as a wholesaler, utilising her qualifications in Business, Business Management and Governance. She is currently part of the Kāhui Māori group that guides Science and Technology Innovation researchers in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
