Global Market Insights: United Kingdom with the Hon Dan Tehan MP

On December 17th 2021, Australia’s Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, The Hon Dan Tehan, along with the UK’s Secretary of State for International Trade Anne-Marie Trevelyan signed the Australia UK Free Trade Agreement, at a virtual ceremony between Adelaide and London. The Agreement is the first for the UK since leaving the European Union which has been started from scratch. An incredible achievement, as it was negotiated in only 18 months, almost exclusively online.

Minister Tehan shared his insights during a business lunch event as a part of the Global Market Insights Series on 2 March 2022 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney. He highlighted the key outcomes for improved trade, investment and mobility between our two countries once the agreement comes into force.

The Export Council of Australia proudly partnered with the Australian British Chamber of Commerce for this event.
