Asia-Pacific Trade Awards

The Asia-Pacific Trade Awards honour small and medium enterprises (SMEs) for their outstanding achievements in global trade.
The Awards serve as a platform to celebrate and amplify the success stories of businesses in the Asia-Pacific. By recognising their accomplishments and contributions, the Asia-Pacific Awards encourage businesses to continue their impactful work, inspire other businesses to make similar efforts, enhance their brand credentials, and elevate the Asia-Pacific’s position in global trade.
The Awards cover multiple categories, and involve businesses from key economies in the region. The winners are selected by a committee, managed and led by the Export Council of Australia.

Businesses will represent the following economies:
- Australia
- China
- India
- Indonesia
- Japan
- Malaysia
- Peru
- Philippines
- Singapore
- Vietnam
Nomination and Winner Selection Process
The brand and initiative of the ‘Asia-Pacific Trade Awards’ are the property of Export Council of Australia (ECA).
ECA will establish partnerships or collaborate with identified organisations in each participating country under a licensing arrangement.
Securing of nominations for each country and category, can occur through either of the following methods:
- Self-nomination by the business or exporter
- By invitation from ECA
- Nominated by ECA partners in the participating country.
Judging of nominees will be conducted by a committee managed and led by ECA.
The committee will include representatives from the participating countries.
The committee will consider a maximum of three (3) nominees for each category from each country.
In shortlisting, the committee will identify two (2) top nominees for each category from each country. These businesses will receive recognition as ‘Finalists’ for the relevant category and will represent their respective countries at the gala ceremony announcing the final winners.
There will only be one winner per category. Criteria for judging is detailed in Attachment A.
As an annual event, subsequent gala events will be held in the country of the winner of the Global Trader of the Year award.
Complementary Activities
In addition to the identification of nominees and selection of winners, and the hosting of gala events, this initiative will be a useful vehicle to bring businesses together for roundtable discussions. Such supplementary events will provide a useful platform to share challenges and insights, and will facilitate new connections and commercial partnerships.
