Madhushani Rathnasiri is a highly skilled fashion designer with extensive experience in the Apparel industry. She is the founder and lead designer of Islandoor, a renowned brand that specializes in sustainable women’s wear. Madhushani has been working closely with local artisans in Sri Lanka, collaborating with them to create unique and exquisite pieces that are exported to the Canadian and UAE markets.

During her research for her final project in her bachelors, Madhushani discovered that the fashion industry is one of the most environmentally polluting industries in the world. Motivated by this finding, she embarked on a mission to find a viable solution to this issue. She delved into the concept of upcycling, which involves transforming waste materials into high-quality products, and seamlessly integrated it with contemporary art. This pioneering concept eventually gave birth to the Islandoor brand.

The brand is dedicated to minimizing the environmental impact caused by the fashion industry and raising awareness about broader environmental concerns.
