I am Rufina S. Aranzado, a proud member of Iraya Mangyan in Talipanan Mangyan Village in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, where culture and traditions meet with the modern designs and handicrafts. As an advocate of culture and arts, and an entrepreneur, I am committed wholeheartedly to the preservation of our culture and arts while providing a livelihood for the weavers of our community. One of the thriving traditions of our community is through weaving Nito baskets that depict our deep connection with nature as our inspiration for our designs. A way of weaving differs from others, which celebrates creativity and being artistic.

Nito Weaving is more than just a handicraft – it is rooted in our ancestors, enriched by the present, and the hope of future generations. Materials are given by nature that teach us to be grateful for the graces and life it gives.

Our mission is to show our artistic and creative talents to the world by keeping our culture in mind. By doing this, it uplifts the lives of many in our community.
