Patricia Torres founded the Mamanyjun Tree Enterprises Pty Ltd company in 2019 to maximise the emerging opportunities for the Indigenous led development of the Australian Native Foods industry in the West Kimberley region of Western Australia and Northern Australia. Through her membership on the Northern Australian Aboriginal Kakadu Plum Alliance (NAAKPA) and the Five Kungkas Alliance she has become an active member within the industry. Pat is the Western Australian member of the newly formed national bushfoods group First Nations Bushfoods & Botanicals Alliance Australia (FBBBAA); she is a member of the Australian Native Foods & Botanicals group (ANFAB)and Slow Food International with the Swan Valley convivium in Western Australia. Pat is a Supply Nation certified member and is a wholly owned-managed First Nations business that incorporates more than 20 First Nation families into her business activities in her local region as harvesters, event workers, trade shows, local festival and catering events.
