I am Angélica Cosío Candelario, Wixarika Artisan. Since I was 3 years old I started designing my own cross stitch embroidery inspired by the animals I saw around me. I am currently 42 years old, I am established in Huejuquilla el Alto Jalisco. I have more than 25 years in this journey, making Wixarika Art, contemporary and traditional jewelry in beads, as well as loom bags, cross stitch embroidery, bags, costumes, decoration of figures with beads, worsted painting, personalized and accessories for children. Founder of the Maxa kwaxi brand dedicated to the design of Wixarika jewelry. Our art not only encapsulates the aesthetic beauty of our people, but we also seek to act as a bridge between generations and geographies. That is why our brand “Maxa Kwaxi” (Venison Tail) was born only as a business, but as a mission to cultivate and preserve the Wixarika identity.
